Wisconsin Democrat mirrors hypocrisy of her corrupt party

In her op-ed, "Wisconsin still the Selma of the north,' " that appears in the March 2 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore(D-4th) argues that the state's voter ID law "disenfranchises people of color" in much the same manner as those laws that denied blacks their constitutional rights prior to the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

Given Ms. Moore's immigrationvoting record that has earned her an F- grade from NumbersUSA, her concerns ring hollow.

Blacks and Hispanic-Americans have the nation's highest unemployment and poverty levels that have only been made worse by unsustainable levels of legal and illegal immigration, yet this hasn't prevented Ms. Moore from enthusiastically supporting President Obama's lawless executive amnesty that gives work permits and Social Security Numbers to 5 million illegal aliens, many of whom hold payroll jobs in the construction, manufacturing, service and transportation industries while 18 million Americans are unable to find full-time work.

Can it be said then that Ms. Moore's amnesty advocacy and that of her entire political party also is contributing to the economic disenfranchisement of the very people she claims to care about?

Comparing Jim Crow laws and the use of police brutality against a certain segment of society to today's voter ID laws is absurd and serves only to distract the public from the real issue. What Ms. Moore should be railing against is a federal government, including her, that has for years been callously sacrificing the most vulnerable members of our society on the altar of political gain.
