The hypocrisy of today's progressive politicians
During their appearance at the September 13 "Fighting Bob Fest" in Baraboo, WI, Sens. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) and Bernie Sanders (I-VT), and Rep. Mark Pocan (2nd) paid tribute to the century-old core message of progressives like the late Sen. Robert M. La Follette: End Corporate America's smothering influence on the federal government.
"As long as we have corporations more interested in profits than in people, progressives have to keep fighting," said Pocan.
Baldwin said, "You get to decide whether we will allow powerful forces with deep pockets to buy our elections . . . or whether we will rebuild our and grow our middle class . . ."
Sanders said pretty much the same thing.
But what those in attendance failed to grasp was that they were being played for fools by these three hypocrites in Congress whose actions in Washington run just the opposite of what they were saying during the 13th annual event.
That's because Baldwin, Sanders and Pocan are on record as being anti-American worker, a fact that comes through loud and clear from their dismal immigration voting records and support for amnesty for the nation's 12 million illegal aliens, 7 million of whom are being allowed to remain in their non-farming payroll jobs while 18 million Americans can't find full-time work. In other words, corporations and other power elite, the arch enemies of genuine progressives, have for nearly three decades been benefiting from the steady flow of cheap and exploitable workers thanks to the likes of these three phonies who eagerly sacrifice ordinary Americans on the altar of political gain.
Somewhere, Fighting Bob has to be fighting mad.
