PARADE magazine lets "straight-talking" Rick Perry off the hook
In its Oct. 23 "Meet the Candidates 2012" feature, "Rick Perry Hates to Lose," PARADE reporter Lynn Sherr says theTexas governor is"straight-talking."
Well, let's see.
When asked to explain why in 2001 he signed into law a bill granting in-state tuition to illegal aliens, Perry says it was decided that it would be better to give these kids a higher education so they could "enter the workforce . . ."
But isn't it illegal to hire illegal aliens? Why, of course it is.
But as important as that question is, it doesn't rank with the one that PARADE should have put before Perry - as well as to the other candidates PARADE will eventually profile -, i.e., "What do you think of the Obama administration, which says putting Americans back to work is a 'top priority,' permitting 7 million illegal aliens to keep their jobs in non-farming industries while 22 million Americans are unable to find full-time work?"
Will Ms. Sherr get to the real meat of the immigration issue and, if she does, should we expect a straight answer from the other candidates?
